THIS MONTH'S FEATURED PRESENTATION
Transforming Words: Kaleidoscope of Mind
By Connie Brannan, CHt.
Words have immense power. Language patterns have immense power. We all know this. It’s our stock in trade as hypnotherapists, our tools of transformation, after all. In this talk, I’ll present a fun conversational process, a hypnotic process using “transforming words” to shift attention to resources , while inducing trance, and blowing out a problem state! We’ll have a live demonstration of the process, and your own hands-on opportunity to practice as well.
“Where attention goes, energy flows.” Simply stated, we focus on a shifting of attention to where the problem is not, using paradoxical language to elicit resources, which we can then attach where needed and useful. A three-dimensional metaphor: Kaleidoscopes. I love them--those shape-shifting, spinning, living pieces of art! As we spin or rotate the tube, we get a unique and beautiful new view of the same bits of glass and beads and paper, etc. which are present—reflected to us in new ways. It’s the same with our minds. They can spin, too. With transforming words, we spin them in useful, problem-dissolving directions.
